ICOA

ICOA (International Council of AYUSH) is an autonomous body of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy, recognized globally. It was founded in January 2017 by eminent and legendary professionals in the field of AYUSH. Major aim of the council is to maintain an inclusive perspective on different disciplines of AYUSH and of nurturing a continuing collaboration between them.

It is an international apex body for the formulation, co-ordination, development and promotion of research on scientific lines in AYUSH systems of medicine.

Vision

  •  To patronize, preserve, promote and create awareness to ensure planned and coordinated development of multifold diverse disciplines of AYUSH, traditionally known as Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy and Complementary & Alternative Medicine (CAM), by bringing in harmony amongst, inherited human knowledge and various organizations, forums, members, doctors, NGO's, Central/State/Quazi Govt. Bodies, Universities, UGC including eminent scholars, researchers, specialists, professors and intellectuals representing field of Ayush, scattered nationally & internationally, forInterdisciplinary exchange of information on relevant research results, innovations, publications, projects, initiatives as well as scientific congresses and other worldwide events, philanthropically.
  • To organize conferences, seminars, debates, symposiums, workshops, to provide endowments, stipends, scholarships, fellowships etc. and to publish souvenirs, newsletters, magazines, journals, books etc., to conceive mass media peripherals to establish and operate libraries, reading rooms, community centers, research & development centers, training centers, vocational training, social and educational bodies, as well as global networking of human assets blessed with inherited/inherent knowledge, for AYUSH & Complementary & Alternative Medicine (CAM), also to set, formulate, standardize operational guidelines & educational schemes for the field of AYUSH, not confined to any territorial boundary.

Mission

  • To undertake surveys and studies relating to various segment of Ayush, various interdisciplinary research studies and publish Globally the result thereof.
  • To make recommendations to the Central, State Government, Universities, University Grants Commission, National governing bodies ,recognized institutions Globally and national level in the matter of preparation of suitable plans and programs in the different bodies of Ayush.
  • To co-ordinate and monitor different segment of ayush and its development in the country and at aboard level.
  • To lay down guidelines in respect of minimum qualifications for a person to be employed as a teacher of Ayush segment in schools or in recognized institutions.
  • To lay down norms for any specified category of courses or trainings in different segment or bodies of ayush including the minimum eligibility criteria for admission thereof, and the method of selection of candidates, duration of the course, course contents and mode of curriculum and conduct of workshop, conference and symposium.
  • To lay down guidelines for compliance by recognized institutions, for starting new courses or training, and for providing physical and instructional facilities, staffing pattern and staff qualification in different segment of Ayush bodies.
  • To lay down standards in respect of examinations leading to education qualifications in different segment of Ayush bodies, criteria for admission to such examinations and schemes of courses or training.
  • To lay down guidelines regarding tuition fees and other fees chargeable by recognized institutions and promote computer education system in ayush segment.
  • To promote and conduct innovation and research in different segment of Ayush bodies and other multidisciplinary subjects mentioned in and disseminate the results thereof.
  • To examine and review periodically the implementation of the norms, guidelines and standards laid down by the Council, and to suitably advise the recognized institution.
  • Evolve suitable performance appraisal system, norms and mechanism for enforcing accountability on recognized institutions.
  • Formulate education schemes for different segment of Ayush bodies and identify recognized institutions and set up new institutions for teacher development programme.
  • Take all necessary steps to prevent commercialization and exploitation of Ayush bodies.
  • Perform such other functions as may be decided by the council with the coordinated effort or as may be entrusted to it by the Central Government or global bodies of ayush . and to make inspection in the institutions / colleges / universities for different segment of Ayush bodies in India and provide the proper professional guidance to the institutions / colleges /universities for better quality and vocational education in different segment of Ayush bodies.
  • To establish a Cell/Board/Bodies to provide the Registration facilities for the different segment of Ayush.
  • To receive financial and non-financial assistance from Govt./Non-Govt./ Organization, International Agencies, banks and any other legal entity or individual.
  • To accept donation, Grants presents gifts and other offerings in the shape of movable and/or immovable properties for the attainment of the aims and objectives.
  • To collect information, Notifications, Policies from the Government, Semi Government, National/International Agencies and N.G.Os. and provide the same to the public.
  • To provide legal, medical aid, social- economic help and assistance to the needy people, at free of cost.
  • To approach to the competent court/courts to safeguard the right of the general public and for the public interests from time to time as the council may deem fit and proper.
  • To organize and raise funds and/or the donations towards the CM/PM Relief Funds.
  • To publish Books, Charts, Illustrations, Journals, Magazines, Periodicals, News Letter/Papers and other publications in the different languages and on the different subjects for council.
  • To assist and co-operate the other Associations, Trusts and the various N.G. Os’ whose aims are same as this Council.
  • To do such other things/acts/activities, which are necessary and which may be incidental or conducive to the attainment of any other object of the Council.
  • To help the Ayush community by providing the placement service.
  • The Aims and Objectives of the council shall be purely for ‘CHARITABLE PURPOSE’ which includes relief of the poor,educational, social, medical, relief and the advancement of any other objects of general public utility.
